RITA MANCERA
Rita Mancera was born in Mexico City and grew up in Baja California Sur. Rita’s previous work in Mexico gave her a foundation for understanding poverty, inequality and immigration, and a taste for the results of collaboration among agencies. It has been her thirteen years of living in Pescadero and her relationships with local immigrant friends and neighbors that opened her eyes to poverty right next door to wealth, injustice in labor practices and challenges and opportunities of living in an isolated rural community such as the South Coast. Rita has been the Executive Director of Puente since January 2016.
